I find that Chris maximizes what he can get when selling a property. He is a very tough negotiator. I know this because the first time I met him, I was a buyer, and he was the realtor selling the property. My realtor and I had to negotiate the price against Chris, and he was able to extract full value from me with several rounds of back and forth. That isn’t something I was happy about, but I knew when I sold, I wanted him on my side.

When I decided to sell, I found Chris’s contact information from the contract and reached out to hire him as my realtor. He came in with a solid market comparison and a gameplan on how to stage the property and set up a viewing schedule that would get maximum interest. I found him candid on what I could change about my furniture layout to improve the initial impression, which I appreciated.

The first day that I listed he got a call from someone who was interested in buying that day. I had reservations, as having viewings for a week could potentially create buyer competition. I told Chris that I would only entertain an offer if it was a home run and told him what number I considered a home run. This is when I really knew that he was the person I thought I had hired. He didn’t say that my number wasn’t a home run, but he said “Picture yourself in the world series. It is the 7th game, 9th inning, and your team is behind. You are at the plate with the bases loaded and hit a grand slam to win the world series. Then do that back-to-back years”

I laughed but said OK, let’s hear the offer out. The buyers came back with a number better than my home run number, and I was ready to take it. But Chris said he could do better. And he did. If you are looking for someone to sell your property, I recommend Chris as the only agent you want on your side. Working with him is beyond words, you need to see it for yourself, it’s unbelievable.

This is the second time we’ve gone to Chris and his team at Macdonald Realty Westmar to help us find our new home and to help us sell our first. Chris gave us a lot of advice and tips to help get our place ready to be listed. He was prepared with lots of information to share so that we could make the best choices for our listing. He was open and honest about sharing his thoughts when helping us make our decisions.

The selling process was quick from start to finish and we were able to close within two weeks of being listed! We were always given enough notice and information about what was happening while our listing was active.

The buying process started off slow as we were still exploring a few different neighbourhoods and weren’t quite sure what budget we wanted to stick to. Chris was flexible and worked with us through all that to help us determine which neighbourhood we actually wanted to focus on. Once we decided, Chris was always ready with potential listing for us to look at. He worked with our schedule and took us to see any and all available listing that we showed interest in (and even some that we weren’t so sure about)! During each showing, whenever we had questions, he was always ready to share his thoughts or find the answers for us. With the crazy housing market, our search for the ideal home wasn’t moving along as fast as we had hoped. Finally we decided to look at a few more listing (even one that I wasn’t so keen on, but Chris suggested we look anyway since we were right in the same neighbourhood already) and to my surprise, this one house became our home! Chris worked his magic and was able to get the house at the budget that we wanted to stick with and even match up our closing dates from our sale and purchase so that we wouldn’t have to move twice.

We have had nothing but positive experiences with Chris and his team and would recommend him to anyone who’s interested in selling or buying.
